Set in the historic village of St Jean Lespinasse, our property is surrounded by the beauty,heritage, and warmth that define this region. The village is home to the Golf de Montal, ascenic and well-regarded course that blends beautifully into the rolling countryside, ideal forgolfers of all levels. Overlooking it is the magnificent Château de Montal, a Renaissance gemwith a remarkable past. During World War II, it famously housed the Mona Lisa forsafekeeping, adding a touch of legend and prestige to the area.
The nearby medieval villages of Martel, Carennac, Loubressac, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, andthe world-famous Rocamadour are just a short drive away. Each offers its own charm,cobbled streets, panoramic views, and timeless French character.
Weekly local markets are full of fresh produce, artisan cheeses, charcuterie, and wine, whilecafés and terraced restaurants invite you to slow down and savour the moment.The region is a food lover’s paradise, known for its foie gras, truffles, walnuts, and fineregional wines. And with a wealth of cosy bistros and Michelin-level dining nearby, everymeal can be an experience.
We chose to build our home here over 20 years ago, inspired by the authenticity, security,and natural beauty of the region. Designed to reflect the style and character of the area, ourbeautiful home has brought us peace and joy, and is admired by everyone who visits.The quality of life here is exceptional. There’s a strong sense of community, excellentshopping, healthcare and pharmacy support are 2klms away, a genuine feeling of wellbeingin daily life. The road networks are excellent, making travel across France and Europe, andtravelling back to the UK is straight forward and stress-free.
As I write this, the church bells ring gently through the village, a daily reminder of the calm,rhythm, and charm of life here in St Jean Lespinasse.
