The walls are made of a combination of natural stones and double-shell bricks with thermal insulation on the inside. The roof is covered with red bricks, well isolated and partly panelled in wood. The windows are of German origin with white PVC-frames and very good insulation glass with a thermal conductivity value of 1.0 W/m²K. All windows show the locally typical granite linings. The 2 bedrooms have parquet floors. The living room, the kitchen, the dining room and the stairs are out of Portuguese, light grey, polished granite plates. The sanitary equipment is of common standard.
The house is heated by a floor heating system. The bricked fire place with a cast iron / steel inlay has a water-warming heat register. This register heats up the service water as well as the water for the floor heating system.
The installed solar system brings hot water in summer times and supports the heating during winter times.
A roofed parking space for a caravan as well as a parking space for a car is available directly next to the house.
Separate buildings (workshop) and garden shed are adjacent to the planted garden.
Location
The small village Cume with its 4 permanently inhabited houses is situated 7km next to the market town Pedrógão Grande. Pedrógão Grande has a good infrastructure with e.g. an indoor swimming pool and the idyllic reservoir Cabril. The next village, Vila Facaia is 2km away. It has a basic infrastructure including cafés, restaurants, small shops, a health care centre and a weekly market where local people sell their home-grown vegetables and fruits. The property is accessible by a tarred road (dead end) which leads into a dirt road. The baker brings freshly baked bread to the house every morning. The next small town Figueiró dos Vinhos is a 10 minutes’ drive away, the next city Pombal can be reached within 45 minutes. The major city Leiria and the university city Coimbra as well as the marvellous Atlantic beaches are also close by.
