Giardini Naxos is a 40 minute drive from Catania Airport.

This apartment is on the ground floor of an old property which we would approximate a guess at being around 100 years old. The apartment was totally re-developed in 2007 which included new ceramic tile flooring, new bathroom, new kitchen, totally re-plastered, new electrics and new plumbing and fully fitted wardrobes.

The out going bills are extremely low, - local rates totalling around 100 euro's a year.

There is no vehicle access to the property and therefore a 100 metre walk from the sea front. There are a few steps up to the property therefore wheelchair access would be difficult.

As with a lot of Sicilian properties access is up a narrow alleyway and therefore there is no outside space or sea view, however the location is everything, as a 100 metre walk from the property and across the road is the beach at Giardini, which has golden sand and is safe for bathing and leads to the marina offering boat excursions together with a large selection of restaurants and shops.

During the high season there are many local activities including open top bus tours, fishing trips, diving, and tours to the Outlet Shopping centre in the centre of Sicily, also boat trips over to Malta and to the volcanic islands to the north of Sicily.

For those who do not like to drive, the bus service is excellent and buses to the ancient town of Taormina (3 miles away) run every half hour, also to Letojanni and other coastal resorts.

An hour's drive takes you to Mt Etna where in the winter months there is a ski resort.
